Excellent Choice for Table Decoration and Room Ambience…

The frosted votive candle is an excellent choice for table decoration, and for creating room ambience, a glass votive candle holder adds the magic.

Tip: Wedding votive candles are very popular.

You can use glass votive candles or a hanging votive candle to create a stunning atmosphere for photographs.

And because votives burn upto fifteen hours, I guess you could say “cheap votive candles” make these candles the ideal and cost effective solution.

Why do candle votives use a votive holder or votive candleholder?

Simply because a votive candle is not safe to use as a free standing candle.

Allow me to explain…

Tip: To make the votive candle even less expensive look for votive candle holders at thrift shops and yard sales. You can get amazing bargains.

Personalized votive candle: You can personalize votive candles by wrapping a pretty ribbon around the rim of the votive candle holder.

Simply use a hot glue gun to apply glue…

Here’s a quick check list of candles votives items with candle equipment you can get at a votive candle wholesale crafts store:

  • Wax
  • Wicks and wick tabs
  • Dye
  • Fragrance
  • Votive candle molds
  • Double boiler
  • Thermometer

Tip: You want wicks and wick tabs for votive candles, (the wick tabs serve as a base for the candle.)

You can also add in a dye and fragrance if you want to create a scented votive candle.

Tip: To ensure votives form properly and don’t stick in the molds, you can purchase a mold lubricant spray to keep the surfaces clean and lubricated.

How to make your own votive candles…

Step 1: Melt wax. Once the wax has melted, you can add in any colors or fragrances.

Immediately pour the melted wax into the votive candle molds, filling to the lip of the mold.

Tip: For easy clean up, place old newspaper under the wax molds before you pour the wax into them.

You’ll want to save about 20% of the melted wax for the next pouring process.

Step 2: While the wax is cooling in the molds, prepare your wicks.

Use a wick tab to attach a wick several inches longer than the mold. Dip the wicks into the hot wax.

Tip: Votive molds cool quicker then other types of candles. Once the wax begins to harden, insert a wick with the tab into each mold through the bottom.

As the wax continues to cool, it will meld with the metal tab ensuring the wick stays in place at the base of the candle.

As the candles cool, make sure the wick stays in the center of the votive.

Step 3: As the wax completely cools, you’ll notice a sink hole.

This happens because of shrinkage. Just pour melted wax into the molds again to easily solve this…

Tip: Heat the wax approx fifteen degrees hotter than the original wax you used to fill the votives. After the candles have completely cooled again, they will slide out of the molds easily.

Step 4: Trim the wick to about ½ an inch from the top of the candle.

Tip: For safety, you want to use a votive holder that’s an inch or two taller than the actual candle itself.

Step 5: Now its time for the personalized votive candle. Add color or scent to your votive candles for your own unique and personal touch.

Imagine all the different ways you can share the joy and experience from learning your candle making craft.

You can offer your own innovative votive candle creations as an excellent gift for the next party, wedding or special event or occasion too…
